This form of Purpurea has very dark (reddish-black) leaf coloring with sufficient sunlight. The inside of the urns have white hairs.
This carnivorous plant needs a fully sunny spot and an ever-moist substrate for optimum growth. Sarracenia in pots or tubs should be overwintered outdoors to allow them to rest. The substrate must also be kept well moist during this period.
