Genlisea

The genus of plants Lentibulariaceae called Genlisea is specialized in the capture of protozoa and includes terrestrial or semi-aquatic carnivorous plants, perennial or annual depending on the species.
The traps of these plants consist of long, hollow, twisted filaments into which tiny subterranean or aquatic organisms are sucked. Prey are trapped by tiny hairs that point to the center of the plant, preventing them from escaping.
