ICPS is proud to promote the first ever World Carnivorous Plant Day, which will be held every first Wednesday in May (May 5 in 2021). In lieu of the international conference in Himeji, Japan, World Carnivorous Plant Day 2021 will be the central carnivorous plant event of the year. This one-day web event will replace the postponed ICPS conference in 2022.
The idea of a World Carnivorous Plants Day was first brought to the attention of the ICPS Board of Directors in 2020 by Krzysztof Banaś of Poland. Krzysztof envisioned a day that would put carnivorous plants in the spotlight in order to raise awareness and educate the public.
May 5: World Carnivorous Plant Day online presentations
Organized by theInternational Carnivorous Plant Society to celebrate its 50th anniversary, this “online conference” will feature speakers from around the world. Featuring a global selection of botanists, horticulturists and other enthusiasts, these presentations will allow these experts from around the world to share their knowledge of and experiences with carnivorous plants in a universally accessible manner.
