Description
Sarracenia x ‘alucard’ is an officially registered cultivar but in the form of a “grex”, meaning that any seedling resulting from a cross between a rubricorpora and a ‘Royal Ruby’ can technically be considered ‘Alucard’, as long as it matches the general description of the cultivar. The plant recorder made this nuance possible compared with the single cultivars usually recorded, as there was a certain homogeneity in the seedlings produced (to put it simply: big red plants).
Among this original cross made by Phil Faulisi, 2 clones stood out for their remarkable characteristics:
- The “Select” here
- The Prince of Darkness
Sarracenia x ‘Alucard’ — “Select” is truly a magnificent plant for collectors. It will reveal its full potential if left to establish itself well for several seasons (between 3 and 5) in its pot. But the wait is truly rewarded with this exceptional plant.
