Description
The most famous and coveted Sarracenia flava var. atropurpurea of recent years. Its bright red coloring occurs mainly when the urns are opened in maximum sunlight, while the inside of the traps is yellow with a red central vein, giving it this extraordinary contrast. Then, as the urns mature, the bright red gives way to a darker red, and the inside of the traps become variably infused with red.
This cultivar is officially registered with the ICPS.
