Description
Sarracenia pupurea spp. Venosa ‘minor Black’ (Thomas Carow)
Carnivorous plant easy to grow, provided you observe a few rules: grow outdoors (frost-resistant to -25°C), in full sun, pot soaking in a saucer always full of non-calcareous water (rainwater, demineralized water, etc.). Substrate of white peat (+ perlite), never fertilize.
This plant is a cultivar by Thomas Carow (German grower), which turns a very dark reddish-black in the right light at the end of the season. The urns have white hairs on the inside.
The plant sold is the one shown in the photos.
As this plant is shipped bare-rooted, you’ll need a pot (preferably plastic, fairly deep, about 3 liters) and some white peat moss to repot it on receipt.
