Description
Nepenthes peltata is a rare species of carnivorous plant native to the high altitudes of the Philippines. Its name “peltata” comes from the Latin word for “shield-shaped”, referring to the unique structure of its leaf attachments. This plant produces magnificent urns in a variety of colors, from deep red to orange-brown, with a velvety texture and mottled patterns.
Growing conditions
- Temperature : 12 to 25°C (ideal for cool to temperate climates)
- Humidity : 70-90%.
- Light : Indirect or partially shaded bright light
- Substrate : Mixture of live sphagnum moss, perlite and pine bark
- Watering : Rainwater or demineralized water, keep substrate moist but not soggy.
- Fertilizer : No need, as it feeds mainly on captured insects.
