The plant is confined to the east coast of the USA, in the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.<\/p>\n

Description<\/p>\n

Drosera filiformis is up to 30 cm long and grows vertically. Leaves covered with glandular cilia unfurl in spring and turn red in the sun. This Drosera grows in clumps, which greatly enhances its ability to catch insects, as they are quickly immobilized by the many sticky traps. Leaves are passive and do not bend when they come into contact with their prey.<\/p>\n

\n

Drosera filiformis overwinters in a hibernaculum. It can withstand frosts, but remains highly susceptible to fungal diseases.<\/p>\n

\n

In cultivation, this plant wakes up in March-April, unfurling increasingly large leaves. Flowering produces a 40 to 50 cm high flowering spike with fifteen mauve flowers. Self-pollinating, they give numerous seeds that germinate easily.<\/p>\n

Easy to grow, this plant can also be acclimatized in outdoor bogs.<\/p>\n

\n<\/b> -5\u00b0C, can withstand frost in a cold greenhouse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ideal temperatures: In the growing season 20-30 degrees, make sure not to exceed 40 degrees.<\/p>\n

During the 0-10 degree dormancy period, take care not to go below -5 degrees in the pot.<\/p>\n

Does very well in bogs, however.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n<\/b> A saucer or tub with about two centimetres of water should submerge the base of the pot, or even up to the height of the pot in summer. In winter, the substrate should always be damp, but not soggy.<\/span>
